Recently, it has come out that the County Board of Supervisors in Essex has decided to strike a five-year solid waste disposal contract with Serkil LLC. However, not all town members are happy with this decision. They are finding a way out to opt out of the contract and go on their own for interceptor waste disposal or hire some other company.

The supervisor Bill Ferebee opined that the final decision on Serkil will be taken after the attorney of Essex County, Dan Manning gives some information about the clause to opt out of the contract. The other supervisors also supported Ferebee's opinion. When the weighted voting took place, the motion to table the decision of Serkil was defeated by 1,725 votes to 989 votes.
The past & present
When the solid waste disposal system was established in the year 1994, a total of 207 votes were in abstention by Crown Point. There were 207 total votes in abstention by Crown Point, and it did not join the county solid waste system. However, some towns of the Essex County were of the opinion that they would rather go for disposing garbage on their own.
Cost curbing
The people who are against this contract showed their disapproval by asserting on the fact that there are several interceptor waste and trash disposal companies that offer these services at lower prices. Now let's see whether it takes the contract away from Serkill LLC or more is to come.
